Dont throw stone: The Glass Castle
Bibligraphic details: the glass castle by Jeannette Walls, published 2005 publisher: Simon&Schuster
For term one Roar I read a book called “The Glass Castle” by Jeannette walls. In this book she talks about her life growing up, and about how much it was a struggle for her. Having a father that’s an alcoholic and a mother that could care less about what the kids do. Growing up, she never really had a house that she could call her own or even had clothes that were hers . She rarely took shower or even went to school, because she was always bullied by the kids because of their appearances. all the things that she learned were as she grew up.At a young age she was able to read, much better than the kids her own age. Jeannette reminds me of scout in "To kill a mocking bird" by Harper lee, because she was a tom boy fought at school and didn't like wearing dresses. Her mother had a very different way for raising her kids. She let them do as the please, " Mother didn't believe in giving kids rules and restrictions sh felt it was good for the kids to do what they want, because they learned a lot from their mistakes" (walls 59). this is an important part of the book because it shows how with out structure in her life Jeannette was able to learn for her childhood and use that as her motivation to be better then what her parents where.
